The immediate past commissioner for agricultural and natural resources in Edo State, Hon Richard Edebiri has congratulated Gov. Godwin Obaseki concerning the supreme court judgement on Friday, over the All Progressives Congress, APC.

APC and some of its members approached the apex court after two lower courts (Federal high court and Appeal court) had affirmed that the appellants did not meet sufficient requirements to prove their case.

In a joyous mood Edebiri said the judgement by the apex court is a true reflection that our nascent democracy as a nation is growing stronger.

He said there was no way the decision of the very few greedy people would have been bidding, when the larger Edos have given their mandate to the ‘wake and see governor’.

“I want to salute my boss the governor of our dear upright state, Mr Godwin Obaseki for coming to the rescue of Edo people. And my ever ready leader, Hon Charles Idahosa. This victory is for all well meaning edolites. Edo have spoken and it shall remain like that.

“For us in Uhunmwonde local government, with the effort of our dependable apex leader Hon Idahosa, we are ever ready to support the governor and his deputy to that enviable height so that our state can be role model to so many states in the country.

“Hon Idahosa against all odds galvanized the good people of our LGA together and we delivered massively for the actualization of this second term. I salute and will continue to respect him as a true democrat.

“The developmental achievement in the first tenure was just a tip of the iceberg, just watch how the state would be for better success stories.
